If they are over 6 inches the sand should not hurt them, but you still run a slighttt chance of ingesting. It's up to you!

yes i'm actualy making a new cage for them this week and i was goin to switch to tiling, i had one before i moved but it was too big to bring so i sold it. as for ingestion problem i feed em mostly calcium suplimented mealworms and once in a while a few wax worms. but i only put in there what the'll eat so i dont have to worry about them crawling under somthing and morphing into a beetle. so if they eat them out of a nice clean dish the no chance of them ingesting the sand. Crickets yeah but the female who is 2 dosent like em so much anymore. the male who is almost 1 is likes crickets more than mealworms but i havent had any problems since i switched him from paper towel.
