I did a little housekeeping after the pics were taken, cleaned out the defecatoria and pushed most of the gravel back against the wall where it belongs. They tend to scatter it, It's back there to fill the gap between the faux wall and the tile. There's a few things not visible in the pics too, they have a humid hide underneath the right side upper level, and one of those turtle basking platforms acting as a ladder to the right side upper level that's hidden behind the plant. They use the big rock outcrop to get onto the lower left level. Also, if you look hard, you can see my eclipse blizzard napping in the heated cave beneath the lower level on the head-on shots. She's a cutie...
Sorry this is off topic. I was curious what you thought of the Exo Terra Reptile Den (the magnetic tunnel hides)? Would it function as a warm side hide? Do you recommend it?
Great set-up BTW, looks a lot more mountinous now then it did when you 1st set it up (with the sand substrate). I'm sure the geckos are very happy.
Do your gecko's spend a lot of their time on the second level? I built my gecko a second level and he's staying up there 24/7. I think I've only seen him one the ground 2 times since I put it in.
Yeah, it sure is shaping up nicely! Can I make a suggestion though? Have you thought about using natural, real slate rocks as the substrate in your tank? At one point you said you were going for "Pakistani mountain reality", and it is mostly rock with a little bit of packed sandy soil up there (in the mountains). Just a suggestion, as it is a touch more natural (habitat-wise for leos), though you would be fine with your tile if you wanted to stay with that. Good Luck and may many healthy leos be blessed by living in your tank!
