I'm a little confused. I see a lot of people on here only have a UTH in their tank and no lights. Or ones that may only be used to differeniate between night and day. I, personally, keep nightglo heat lamps on all the time (one 15watt, one 50watt on their respective sides) because I live in a basement where temps can fall below 50F.

But I'm just curious as to how many keep their geckos with what sort of heat source.

I have a UTH and a lamp. Red bulb though so it doesnt bother him. I cant keep my warm side temps correct without the lamp

I am using both. But the bulb is red.

I am really only using the lighting to be able to view the gecko, saying I'm not a breeder.

i have a UTH and a ceramic heat emitter. My roommate and i keep our apartment pretty chilly to save on our gas bill, so even with just a 30 gal, i need both.

Not all bulbs are heat bulbs. How bout an option that says uth and light. Because I use lights for all my leos but they are like 10 wattage. They don't give out any heat because the UTH does that. I just use them for viewing.

That's what one of the options was for but I had a brainfart and didn't put that on there. >.<

I use UTH's in all my tanks for heat. Two share a ceramic heater sometimes to raise the ambient temp in their tanks but it's only needed on really cold nights.

I use a heatmat and a red led light which doesn't produce heat, its just so I can see my gecko at night time.

That's usually what I do.

i only have a heat lamp because the UTH isn't hot enough on these cold, drafty winter days. on warmer days i don't need it.

i'd rather not use them just because the clamp light gets so hot, i'm afraid i'll whack my hand against it.
