UTH and Temperature

I just purchased an UTH for my 20L tank. I have it in the middle of the lot side. Should it be moved to one corner of the hot side? Also, do I still need a heat lamp for the hot side? What temp should the thermometer read on the tile of above the UTH?

It's probably best at the edge of the hot side, maybe in the middle of the edge (if you know what I mean) rather than the corner. The floor temp should be about 90. If you can achieve that, you don't need the light at all.

The floor temp seems to be around 90 but only where the UTH is. Currently have tiles for a substrate. THe UTH is in the middle of the last 4 tiles (6 inch tiles -- 6 long by 2 wide) . I'm more concerned about the remainder of the hot side not being hot enough.

I should mention that the UTH is the small one for 10-20 gallon tanks. Should I get a larger one to cover more of the hot side? The tank is a 20L.

I use that size for a 20 long with no problem.
