Very sad. Thats why I said I have no tolerence for child molesters. If they are messed up enough to molest a child they are capable of doing anything.
If the man would have gotten a death sentance for the molestation he had previously commited. He would be the one dead and not an inocent child.

Just out of curiousity how does beheading a dog turn into child molestation. Also who else should be burned at the stakes. Where is the line that determines whether or not you should be given a second chance? Do you think that you are not involved in killing or harming someone on a daily basis?

I would not want the person that beheaded the dog to die. I think he needs help and should still get some sort of punishment but in no way do I think he should be killed.

But child molesters and murders need to be disposed of for the safty of the rest of the public IMHO.

Ok another way to look at it...
What do you do with a bad dog? One that has bitten a child and caused serious damage? Usually that dog is put down because it is deemed dangerous to society. Why would we let a human who knows the concept of right and wrong get away with something that we as a society would not let an animal who has no concept of right and wrong get away with?

Well, the discussion began with the beheading of a dog, then it was pointed out people that commit such crimes as that, as well as crimes like child molestation should be imprisoned for life or put to death.

Umm, no Brian, I am not involved in harming or killing anyone on a daily basis. Are you?

And yes, anyone that would sexually molest a child should be either put away forever or terminated. Do you have kids, Brian?

No Kelli I don't have kids. I do however have friends and families children that are very important. I would hope that I could ask GOD to forgive them. Although I know I would be weak and exact my own vengence given the chance.

Don't missunderstand me obviously people need to be protected of them. What I was getting at is with the dog killer every case is different. I was molested by a family member as a child. Worse yet my mother having been molested by that same person put me into that situation by leaving me in there care while she was at work. It really messed up my life. I was never able to trust adults growing up and was always fearful. Having an alcoholic abusive step-father didn't help either. I was probably just a nudge away from going down some wrong paths. What it came down to was hating them and wishing them harm never solved anything. It just drove me further into a bad place.

Well yes I use electricity and buy products from companies that do horrible things so I guess that makes me responsible in a way right?

Brian, I am so sorry that you had to go through something like that. The fact that you can show mercy toward people like the one who put you through all that pain is admirable and you must be a very strong and good hearted person. I don't think I could be that strong and that is why I have the opinion that I do. You should not have had to go through what you did. I know many people that were in similar situations as children including people in my own family. It kills me to think of the damage it has done to you and those other people and I just can not have mercy for anyone that can cause another so much pain.

Very basically said, animal cruelty has been proven to be a gateway crime to human torturing/killing.

The only problem with the "three strikes" rule is - what about the victim in strike two and three? How is it right that they are dispensable so that the criminal has a chance?

If they have evidence beyond any doubt - I say off 'em.

Re: the original topic - that poor girl. Not only losing her dog, but to have to be exposed to such wrongness and cruelty.
