Hi everyone!

I'm Kitty. I'm new to the forums and have been looking for a good active community. Kingsnake, while having a wealth of information, doesn't seem to move very quickly on actual topics of discussion.

I am the owner of one Spotted python and am really interested in Leopard Geckos. I hope to have everything set up for one early next week.

Welcome to GF. I have 7 species of gecko (and a beardie) but leopard geckos are still my favorites.

I really worry about the quality of the animal and the care (or lack there of) that it has been in. what I don't need is an animal that hasn't been properly cared for who will die in 6 months due to no fault of my own. I also don't need extensive vet bills because of someones negligence. While I would love to go and rescue a little critter, I really am inexperienced with geckos and would not know if something was wrong unless someone told me so.

I had an iguana when I was younger that came from a friend's brother. I realize now that he never had the proper equipment or care that he needed. He died within the first year I had him. We only knew something was wrong when things went really wrong. Among other things, we think it was his juvenile food that had too much protein in it which killed his kidneys or liver.

My first tree frog, I raised from a tadpole. I had him for a year when I realized he was massively under sized. I brought him to a breeder for fear that I was killing him.

What I really need is a happy, healthy, normal pet. If I do well with it, then we'll see if I can rescue some others from Craigslist. I'm going to the Scott Smith's All Animal Expo this weekend (http://www.allanimalexpo.com/). Wish me luck, and I'll probably be posting pics of my new leo... and my Spotted Python at the same time.

Welcome! I wish I could go to the All Animal Expo this weekend, to bad I'm busy. But I'm hoping I'll be there next time on August 15th. They have tons of wonderful vendors and Leopard Geckos there to give you a heads up.

She looks like a great breeder, but I haven't seen her before. But you never know, the last time I was there was back in May. They seem to have updated their vendors list so she could be new. Supreme Geckos is always there also. There another good breeder to stop by at.

Edit: I did look at her website and on her Shows It said her first time there was June 5th. So she could be there. Looks like I will be stoping by there on August 15th if shes there.

Supreme Geckos doesn't really look like they have the morphs I like. I am leaning toward a tremper or mack snow. Unless I find a nice normal with possibly some lavender in it.

I've looked at all of them actually =) I like the idea of supporting local businesses. I don't really want to ship a leo. The price of shipping often is more than I would like to pay for the animal alone. Plus there's added stress on the critter.
