So... um... how do I put this? ... we ran over a wild turkey... LOL.

I call the car 'Jaws' now... it looks like a grey shark with those new 'teeth'!

I got the estimate back for the repair today (thank goodness for insurance!).... $1,300 in damage... that suuuure was one expensive turkey! :main_laugh: :main_rolleyes:

The grill broke and popped out, the windshield washer fluid tank got damaged, the bumper is obviously gone, and the fender had been misshapen a little bit from the impact. I guess that is what happens when you hit an animal at 60 mph. lol.

Here is 'Jaws' ...

Wow! Glad it wasn't any worse than that and that you guys are okay!

(By the way, I've hit a couch on the interstate going 70, and had pretty much similar damage, except it ruined my transmission...of course...thank goodness for insurance!)

Ive had a few close ones than turkeys. Sometimes I think they are worse than deer, especially when a line of 10 of them just shoot acrossed the road!

I would still rather hit a turkey than a deer. :D

Saving it for thanksgiving?

Glad to hear you are ok, Good thing the damage was only to the car. I've seen drivers hit small animals but freak out and swerve into the guard rail or into a ditch.

OMG! There's not much wildlife here other than stray dogs and cats so the thought of hitting a turkey is just unimaginable. I'm glad you were ok! Too bad for the turkey I guess...

I swerved by reflex to keep from hitting a dog, and hit a telephone pole which totalled my Bronco.

LOL.... yes... it does!

I still laugh about it... I mean, how can I not? Thank goodness for good humor in situations like this.

Thank you guy for your funny comments, I'm glad you find it as 'odd' as I do.

oh and... the turkey is still on the road, I guess I could go get it and save it for thanksgiving! :p

I've come close to hitting turkeys a couple times this year....though I don't think they'd do quite so much damage to my F150....lol

That was a turkey? o.o I suppose you should just be thankful it wasn't a moose or a deer, then.
