I am not sure if any of you have kids here but hell, at what age would you consider introducing your children to your reptiles, Not just leos, but snakes and other reps. :main_thumbsup:
I don't think there's an age, just as soon as you want. I guess that the sooner they get into the world of reptiles and animals, the sooner they learn an apreaciation for animals. And why not, they learn a little responsibility too If they're really little just let them mist the tanks or drop some aspen substrate for the snakes or something lol. They'll probably enjoy it.
My daughter was responsible enough to get her own gecko when she was 10 and her first snake at 11. She does really well with the care. She's held reptiles before then, too.
I worry about the fact that small children that are younger than about 6 or 7 put their fingers in their mouths A LOT. I'm sure most people teach their children about the importance of proper hygiene and reptiles, and i'm sure a good scrub with antibacterial soap and water before and after handling will take care of mostly anything you need to worry about. But, we are all human and humans will make mistakes now and then, so if I had kids, my main concern would be zoonosis.
