hey guys.

At the beginning of the year there was all the fuss about the Diablo blanco. Since they have been on sale it seems to have dissapeared.
i havent seen any pics off people that bought them, so what happened there then?

Also a question on there genetics.. I dont get it!!
RAPTOR x BB(tremper) = DB.
Why do they need the Carrot Head, Carrot Tail, Tangerine, Patternless stripe as its covered by the blizzard?
Also DB x DB shouldnt produce all DB's like the RAPTOR because of the line bred traits.. though it probebly will wont it because the different patterens wont be able to be told apart, because of the blizzard. Correct?
So why isnt a DB just an eclipse eyed BB?

Cheers

To answer simply: A DB is just an eclipse eyed BB. Many breeders, including RT himself, hardly even take pattern into account any more and call albino eclipses with any variety of patterns RAPTORs, although obviously this isn't techincally correct.

As for what has happened to them, well he sold many thousands of pounds worth of DBs on the first day they went on sale, so there was obviously sufficient interested and a few people have them now.

Cheers CJ.
Yeah thats the answer i had, i suppose your paying for the RAPTOR genes, simple as that really.
I remember all the hype and people obviously bought them. Also they wouldnt be old enough to have any babies so not going to show up that way pic wise.
Im just surprised everyone that got them was so quiet about it. Everyone couldnt wait to show them enigma pics when they came out.. eh CJ.. lol.

Just be nice to see how these are developing, I really like em.

Also
that does confirm that DB x DB will result in 100% DB correct?

actually the first day the DB came available only 9 animals out of 30 something available, sold. (DB and DB related animals "hets" and such)
i think they ended up being a flop.
people knew the genetics and figure "why buy one for however much money, when i can make my own in a season and spend 1/4 the price"

Amen to that. Or, next year, they will be much cheaper........as is the trend in leos.

exactly but only two or so of the hets did. he did not have many DBs available. i mean 9 out of 30 something animals in the first day, may make him a lot of money BUT just by looking at the numbers you can definitely see it was a flop.

honestly the yellow eye thingie well i have my ideas about it and it's not xanthic or whatever he is saying but just a regular tremper albino thing.

Hi Robin,
I am not trying to start a fight or any thing but it is a known fact that you have no use for Ron. LOL That said I just did a quick tally on his sales of the Diablo Blanco’s and it is at 28 Thousand on that page alone. I also know for a fact that Ron will have a separate offering for the next HAMM show in Germany that I am sure he has saved at least half of the Diablo’s he has produced to offer over there. He even raises the price on them so I think it would be safe to say he will double that amount in the first month of sales 56 grand in sales in a month is no flop to me.

albey i do understand and yes you are right to do not care for him. of course he is going to take a lot of them to HAMM because they will sell there (i won't go into detail).
if you charge a boat load and get a boat load of money yet sell only a few, yes you will be making quite a bit of money but as far as the demand part of things, it would be considered a flop. seems as though these animals are not coveted, as much as many of the other new trait combinations. this can apply for for any breeder.

albey and yes i understand we both have our opinions and points of view.
