Our female hasn't laid an egg since January and she's ovulating and deffinately got eggs in there. So, is there anything the vet can do for her if she is egg bound? THanks

It could be that the eggs started to form and then she's re-absorbing them. We had a first year breeder who did that for the entire season last year. She was bred (3 times) to a proven male and still never laid an egg. This year she's laying normally.

The other possibility is that she's egg bound. You should be able to see either larger than normal eggs or two sets. We had a different female who had a clutch of infertiles that she was having problems dropping this season. We couldn't get an appointment with the herp vet for over a week :)main_angry: ) so I gave her warm water soaks 4 or 5 times a day in the mean time. She finally passed them before the appointment.

Usually the vet will try warm water soaks first then they can give her an injection to stimulate laying, if that fails they have to remove them surgically.

I had a first timer absorb most of her eggs last year. It seems she's doing it again this year (that or I'm being too impatient with her). What causes the reabsorption?

I have 2 females, currently, that are bright pink with a 2 eggs each, and they refuse to lay. I'm assuming their going to absorb the eggs, but how long should I give it before they either lay or I take a trip to the vet? It's been since the end of January.

All geckos have different cycles so it's hard to say "after X number of days, take them to the vet". We've had a female that laid every 12 days and another that laid every 45 days. If she appears to be in distress, get her to the vet.

She is eating. :) I gave her a waxie today to make sure. Also, I believe she did re-absorb a clutch inbetween jan. and now. You can see two large eggs in her right and left side. They are making the sides of her tummy poke out. We re-bred her a few weeks ago to the original male.

This is her first season so she may just be absorbing the clutches. I am just a worried mommy I guess. So, she is eating and that makes me feel better.
