So about a year ago my nephews had been asking me if they could have some of their very own geckos as they loved to come over and see my animals and such so I promised them that when they got their report cards to go on to the next grade they would each get a gecko. My brother and sister in-law were in full support of it and thought it would be a great idea, so they got the geckos and have been taking nice care of them but as kids grow so do their interests and the geckos went unchecked by the kids but were still being taken care of
Now when I gave the geckos to my nephews I stressed that these were two of my favorite animals as they are beautiful healthy animals with great personalities

So fast forward to today when I was cruising craigslist and saw an ad for two geckos, then I noticed the phone number, it was my sister in laws
so I phone her and ask her for the geckos back and she tells me that they are hers to do what she wants with and that she is going to sell them
I feel like my two favorite leos are now going to go to a bad home and I will never see them agian, well Ill steal them back or something
So Im sorry for babbling but they have 4 kids, 2 dogs, one they just got, a ball python and 2 geckos
so I don't see how they can take in animals and just throw them away when they get bored or the animal doesn't do what they want
just like how my sister and law doesnt want one of the dogs because they failed at potty training it

sorry for the novel that likely doesnt make sense but I just needed to vent

uhhhhhhhhhhh ^$$%&%$ ^Y$%# ^$%$$$^ %^#%%^

and the nerve to think that they wanted one of my crestie hatchlings

I'm sorry you're having to deal with that. I'm actually taking 4 geckos from a neighbor, 3 of which I sold her last year. In this case, they contacted me to say they were losing interest and wanted me to find good homes for them. I've checked them out and they're in good condition so I'm going to be selling 3 of them at the show this weekend (keeping the 4th). In a related situation, I saw an ad on craigslist for 4 geckos including a snow gecko that had the name "Oskive" in the photo. That's one of the names I sell geckos with (Oskar x Ivory), so I assume it's one I sold someone.

I would recommend to anyone selling/giving a gecko to a friend or family, especially if it's for a kid, to discuss what should happen with them if the person loses interest.
