I am a wax worm fan. They are high in fibre and if there so fatty why aren't superworms, there just a bit less fatty then waxies.

Other then that I would just use butter worms, or silkworms both very healthy.

The only thing with waxies is that they have no nutrition to them just pure fat

I am a wax worm fan also***They are high in fiber and
what's wrong with some fat, especially for laying females that are dropping 7 grams every 18 days?

I have been doing tests with them for some time now. I have found that
unlike published information states, they will eat. They go through the same process as meal worms stages, except they have the moth stage instead of turning into a beetle. The wax worm (or bee moth) is raised on honey and bran usually, so it is as most think of it......a sweet treat.
And it is a sweet treat. I change the process of more than just treats by putting them in Laying Hen Crumbles, Carrots, Orange peel, and Corn Husks/ Cobs and find that they eat all mentioned items...Kept in low humidity but in room temperatures of 77 to 78 degrees. Not cool enough to hold back their life cycles, but they seem to hold on to life longer than in the wood shavings they come in..........I did try and raised them from the moths for awhile, but my problems outweighed purchasing them.....(unless maybe a thought for profit and supplying cooler accommodations)

Although I think of my wax worms more than candy I still fix a meal
schedule that only includes wax worms if continued eating of meal worms occurs. I do this by alternating meal worms, a wax worm, meal worms, etc.
They will fatten up your laying females. They do not cost an arm and a leg. They can stimulate a lost appetite , babies continue to eat the cocoon stage...and...
"I wouldn't leave home with out them."....
take care. HJ

Even babies

Wax worms are good but don't feed them to them everyday

Everyone has their own opinion of wax worms and are welcome to them.. A lot of those opinions have been reached from publishings. Others have been reached by a bad abusing feeding routine.
My geckos get one or two at least near every day. Babies included, once they start eating. Babies eat 5 meal worms+ 1 wax worm near every day. As far as excess fat other than the wanted tail.... Each of my morph types would compete nicely for the "Beach Bikini or Muscle Guy Contest" ...and yes... even "Beach Baby"...( A little Humor With Time Dedicated Shared Information ).................take care. I've been feeding my geckos waxworms a lot lately with no adverse effects. They are good for fattening them up for sure. I must say though that I had a gecko I was worried about a while back, and she fattened up really nicely on mealworms alone.
