What is your ratio of male to females for one project?

I'm a small breeder as well and all of my "projects" have been carried out with 1.2 or at the most 1.3.

My smallest is 1.1 my largest 3.6. It's always best to have an extra male or 2 for each project. And an extra female as well. Due to some females will go one and done and you'll be extremely pissed.

I agree with Ryan. I always have a back up male and keep my ratios on the lower end of the spectrum. I usually do a 1.3 with a back up male (when its possible). The only reason i do a back up is because I had 1 season where one male fell ill and another was infertile....completely ruined our season and we learned our lesson. I am a very small breeder so what few geckos I have breeding...I need to know I will get fertile eggs.

ok thanks! Next year I will be having 1.4, 1.3, 1.2 and was just wondering if that was a good ratio. Maybe I should get another male that can be a back up to all 3.

Having extra breeders is always a nice luxury to have...but its not necessary nor do a lot of other breeders I know do it. I just do because we had that incident happen to us and I vowed to never miss a season like that again (we usually only have 4-5 projects a year).

true and the males I do (or will) have can actually work with all 3 projects so maybe having an extra is not mandatory (but I can use that excuse when I see one I really want lol)
