Panasonic DMC-LZ3... :main_thumbsdown: It's good enough for getting body shots, but sucks for close ups. I'm saving for a Canon DSLR...

DSLR's are awesome, but expensive. Look for something with High Megapixels (6-10mp) and make sure it has a macro setting..

The DMC-LZ3 has 6mp and a macro setting, but it just does not perform... Even with a tripod... :main_no:

The newly-released Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro Digital SLR Camera is reputed to excel in portraits, produce excellent quality pictures and has a very good skin-toned reproduction compared to any digital SLR camera in the market right now. It is often mentioned alongside Nikon D200 because of the similarities in build, appearance and some of the features, but aside from that the mechanisms inside are very much different from one another. I suggest that you visit this site (http://www.smartratings.com/review/photography/digital_cameras/1028) if you want to have a thorough understanding about the product. Hope this helps.

Most of the Sony point and shoot digitals will focus to head shots of a hatchling leo and take great images for the price. The issue I have with Sony is you need to use their card format(memory stick) and I have 16 gigs of CF/SD cards already.....GRRRRR

I hate my Fuji Finepix. I am considering the Canon Powershot A710 for an all-around point and shoot camera. I can't afford a DSLR, and they are too complicated for me, anyway. (Of course, I don't read the instruction manuals).

I just recently bought a Sony Cybershot and I love it then again my old camera was only a 3.2 megapixels. Don't feel bad Marcia I don't read the instructions either thats why I have a husband lol. I was lucky when I got mine because they were on sale and it was buy the camera get a 1 gig memory stick free. The best thing is to just look around the reviews on the cameras in your price range then decide, thats what I did and I couldn't be happier.
