Welcome to GF.

I think he will likely be either a hypo tangerine if he loses most of his body spots or a superhypo tangerine if he loses all his spots. Incidentally, I know you're really anxious for a response (I always am), but bumping your post after less than 2 hours isn't really going to get you a response any quicker and will probably annoy the more sensitive among us (I'm not one of those).

An over-generalization:
Pet store geckos are sometimes small for their age because of being kept in large, competitive, stressful groupings. They don't grow as fast because they may not eat as well as a gecko singly kept. So it's possible that's the age of your leo. It's also possible that he's closer to 2-3 months rather than 3-4 months.

He's a cute little hypo. Looks like he might get some nice orange on his tail, too, although I'm not sure it'll be enough to call carrot tail.

Did they set you up with calcium and vitamins to dust your bugs with? Growing leos do need those. Good luck! And welcome to the forums. =)

You could sometimes be pleasantly surprised. Phate and I bought Gonzo from petsmart when he was 1 month old. He was the largest one in the group, and now, at 11 months has ballooned to a total of 11 inches and weighs between 100-110 grams.

You missed the part where I said over-generalization, did you? ;)

I know some Petsmarts are run better than others, to say nothing of the truckloads of AWESOME one can find at independently run mom-and-pop petstores.

It could also be that you inadvertently got the one in the group that has giant genetics.

I've definitely seen a relationship between size and color development. I occasionally get a hatchling that grows very slowly and consequently changes color very slowly. Last season I had 2 Mack snows that got stuck at 5 grams for a few months. They remained nice and white as well. For some reason, after a few months they really took off and started gaining weight really fast and then also started yellowing up really fast.
