I am probably in no place or position to speak here, for I am still what most of you would all perfectly acceptably and understandably call a kid. I'm indecisive and still have a lot to learn, and have nowhere near the number of geckos or animals most of you all have, but I can't hold my tongue anymore. I'm not trying to be rude to the two members discussed here by what I am saying, only expressing my feelings on the issue.

I've been keeping my eye on both of these members discussed in this thread, one much longer than the other, and they both truly sadden and sicken me. Their immovable stubborness, persistence to believe that what they're doing is perfectly fine, incredibly disconcerting lack of experience, knowledge, and regard for the animal's wellbeing, and the fact that they seem to be oblivious to their animals' pain and suffering is wrong on so many levels.

They have no purpose or place on this forum if they're not going to accept sound advice from members. Any advice or help so generously given to them is evidently and conspicuously ignored. It is apparent that the two are young and immature, and have no business keeping reptiles or any animals, let alone breeding them, if they aren't going to, especially in the waves of help and advice given to them, provide proper veterinary care for them. Any means of helping them at this point seem to be useless, they are too headstrong to take any help that is offered, and instead lull themselves into complacency in spite of their geckos' rather obviously distressing and dangerous situations.

Pinky81 (EDIT - Melissa, my apologies) in my eyes, you've done all you can and more. I commend you for your illustrious efforts. You have repeatedly tried to help these two see what they're missing and/or what they should be doing, giving completely sound and logical advice, that was repeatedly ignored. It is their choice whether to heed that advice or not, and that choice is out of our control.

Thanks for the kind words...took a break from the forum for the weekend, I couldn't take it anymore...too sad! I think myself a patient person as I teach ppl for a living as a nurse, but that post/picture went past teaching to disgusting torture. I also understand the psychology behind someone doing more harm to keep recieving the attention they are craving, that is what I think is happening with some of these kids today..and continuing to post in those threads was only feeding into the issues.

Leopard, you and i are proof that there are a few good kids out there still.

I very MUCH believe there are MANY GREAT kids out there like the two of you! I was one of those like you when I was younger...and I love to see it from young ppl like the two of you!!! Believe I have not given up hope of good responsible kids out there! These two where just getting to be too much!!!

I think alot of kids feel that taking care of a leopard gecko is easy, and when they find out its more then what they 'bargained' for they neglect it after. Leopard Geckos might be the easiest to care for, but a deal of responsibility comes with them to make sure there properly cared for. My gf's younger step sister wanted a leo for a long time and when she found out we got two, she begged us to get her one for her birthday....after taking care of two with a couple problems along the way(which were solved)...we realized that would of been a horrible idea...she has trouble taking care of a one hamster. Not to mention alot of them just buy the reptile without really researching before hand what to expect and or to do.

Youll have to find it like i did, it may very well no longer exsist. In gist. Someone is abusing their animals without care and not listening to our advice, acompanied by having 2 accounts to help themself with credit. It was settled.

In such cases of obvious animal abusement, it would be really best to bring a charge against this person- or their parents if it is a kid. I'm not familiar with US law, but in europe animal abuse can get quite expensive (up to $10.000 if I remember right) and can in the end lead to a legal prohibition of keeping animals. And don't such cases clearly offend against parental responsibility :main_huh: (which is also indictable) ???

Especially in cases where it is obvious that many more geckos will suffer in future, it should be something to think about..

I highly doubt the parents of the kid mentioned above will leave this topic without consequences when forced to pay that much. Sadly such people are most effectively "educated" only over money in the end :main_no:..
