I did introduction VERY early this year, jan 1st to be exact, i witnessed them breed within seconds, im positive the females gravid but she hasent layed her eggs yet. Its been 40 days today and still no eggs, Shes a first time breeder her weight was 50g when she was bred and she went off feed about 2 weeks ago, occasionaly i see her digging but not really for that long. So my question is, Dose this usually happen to first time breeders?

Yes it does. She's waiting for you to REALLY start tearing your hair out, or, better yet, to go away for the weekend. Then she'll lay . . . (in the water dish).

I have to admit that sometimes even with my non-first-timers I waited for months thinking they were gravid butr it all worked out eventually.

hahaha thats what happend to me i had a lay bin in the tank but my female decided that the water dish lookd better then a tub with eco earth in it

some times it just takes time for them to lay but when your not expecting it there will be to eggs ready for incubating
