what's up with Reeses?

My crestie, Reeses, shed last night, and I noticed a weird patch on it this morning.it's like there's no pigment at all, almost like scarring.there's never been any conflict between the 2 babies (they share a 8 gal plastic cage), and I'm sure I would of noticed any injuries, seeing as I handle them fairly often. 2012-06-09_08-19-11_748.jpg

The patch I'm talking about is right where it's shoulder and head come together. It's eating fine, quite spunky, otherwise normal besides the spot.any thoughts?

Im not sure, I noticed before a shedding Achilles had a white spot on his back and i freaked out but he shed that day. The next day it was still there like a permanent mark. I assumed it was a sign of old age but i assumed he was almost a year old even though he's at the max size. Im not sure what to think... How long have you had your crested?

I hatched it out about 2 months ago.it was perfectly fine til it shed last night. Like I said, it doesn't seem to be bothered by it, not especially sensitive to touch, etc

Very curious indeed! I wonder what that is. It's a bit hard to tell from the photo... Anyone have any idea?

I'm also positive that it's not a piece of stuck shed. It's kinda hard to describe, and Reeses won't hold still for a better pic.the patch has normal scalation (that is a word, right? If not, it is now), but no pigment. Best comparison I can think of offhand is the belly scales of a young luescistic ratsnake, where the scales are kinda see through. Opaque, that's the word I wanted.

Is it possible it was burned by anything or came into contact with any chemicals by accident?

No possibility at all. The patch doesn't seem to be spreading, and Reeses is actually friskier that Charizard. i'm keeping an eye on it, but have pretty much stopped being super worried about it. Concerned, but not freaking out. And there is no decent herp vet in the area anymore (my favorite vet sold his practice and retired, and no one around knows 1/3 of what he did...)

It almost looks like some kind of scarring up close, but it literally appeared after a shed.if it had been a wound that size,I would have noticed, given my daily handling of them.

Be sweet if it turned out to be a piebald. I've only seen one of those before (on pangea), and that one supposedly started out normal, from what I understand.not getting my hopes up, though. Just want Reeses to be healthy

Just 1/4" crickets, maybe once a month or so (whenever I have to feed the tarantula,I get a couple extra for the geckos).they never last past the first night.

Maybe it was bitten and got an infection introduced into the wound via the bite?

I'm sure I would have noticed,I literally handle them daily. up until the last shed, both little geckos were perfect. If it was a wound that size,I definitely would have seen scabbing . The patch seems to get a little darker when Reeses gets fired up, also.

Maybe the wound was really small.... I mean i handle my geckos every and i notice some thing different all the time. Like the size they are growing or a new spot or how there claws are sharp.. I don't know.... I mean I've never heard of this spot thing except for the one on achilies but it just seems faded and white and really small compared to yours.

For a patch that size, there would have been fairly significant scabbing for awhile,I promise I would have noticed. Absolutely no aggression between the geckos, no sharp or pokey things in the enclosure, and no crickets have ever lasted more than 15 minutes after being put in the cage.
