ive had katherine my gecko for maybe about a month now? shes my first gecko so idk everything but recently shes been kinda weird and idk whats wrong. shes been really bloated and her stomach is so low on the ground shes having trouble maneuvering. recently she ate a lot more crickets than usual andthey were bigger than the ones shewas used to eating because petsmart was out of small ones that week and i was forced to get large ones so idk if shes just too full or what :^( last night she wawas opening her mouth andshaking her head back and forth and idk what waswrong. her tail is still super thin. idk if its impaction or what i have small gravel in part of the cage because i thought giving her a rough surface would make it easier to shed but that wasprobably a bad idea :^( iput some pictures of her and of the bottom of her stomach because i feel like it looks weird. shesbeen somewhat lethargic aswell. i dont know how well shes been pooping but icleaned all of the droppings out of her cage so i could monitor it. if anyone could help thatd be really appreciated

she always seems kinda pale to me and she had a black toe ever since i got her. i got her from petsmart which was probably a poor idea

sorry for poor image quality if you need more clear images i can try to provide them

Did the head shaking begin after feeding her the larger crickets? If the crickets are too large for her it could cause choking. If large crickets are all you have i suggest closely monitoring her and slowly feed one at a time. Make sure shes okay after each cricket and if you aren't comfortable with that then (this may seem gross) cut up the crickets into smaller bites and hand feed her with tongs. Try to simulate a moving cricket to entice her if she doesn't seem interested. If you let her hunt the crickets she could've eaten the substrate and is now impacted. If shes not pooping a good remedy is to make her a shallow warm bath (up to her hips) and let her soak with a drop or 2 of mineral oil twice a day until she poops. If you dont have mineral oil you can soak her in the warm water and gently massage her belly to stimulate her. Good luck to you and your gecko.
