My female tremper albino has lost a significant amount of weight in the last 2 months. The weight loss has been over time and she hasn't been eating a lot if any. I was just wondering if its time to go to the vet i can only assume she has parasites of some sort or is there a chance it is something else that i can deal with?. Also how long does it take to get results of a fecal test, thats what i assume they do before any medication is given.

-Thanks

Honesty i'd say when you have significant reason to worry. if she is losing weight on a consistance basis with a decreasing appetite. there could possiably be parasites. but if you take her, and there is nothing wrong then there is nothing wrong, a 50.00 consultation is well worth peice of mind and a healthy gecko :main_thumbsup: sorry but i don't know how long it takes to get the results. i don't see why they wouldn't be able to tell you the same day. I would call your local herp vet and ask them a few questions. and see what they recommend

Best wishes, and I hope she is okay

I had my leo fecal test while I waited that day. I think it took about 30 minutes. It was a few months ago and I can't remember the exact time but it wasn't long. He did have parasites and was given dewormer at the vets office and I had to give him more at home. It was easy to do. Hope that helps.

Don't go to just any vet. A lot of vets say they treat exotics to get more clientele, and know absolutly nothing about them or the way they are treated. Try to find an herp vet around your area.
