Just wondering where a good place is to buy fake plants/vines/wood/etc. for a crested's enclosure. Preferrably somewhere that doesn't charge $50 for a piece of plastic (ahem, pet stores )
Family Dollar and Wal Mart has the best prices. Also, for the CGD, Family Dollar & Wal Mart has some great ceramic and tealight dishes on the cheap, just check out the candle isles (Wal Mart has Tealight dishes for like 50 Cents a piece, and they're heavy and tall enough so the geckos don't track through them or tip them over).
I buy fake vine at Dollar General. Just make sure you wash them before you decorate. I put some beautiful, orange foliage in a cage and when I misted there were orange streaks running down the walls. Oops!
THanks for the tips guys Gonna do some major shopping Thursday.
What about substrate and such? I really would like to do a natural vivarium (with live plants and all), but I have no idea how much that would cost This may be more fitting for another thread, however...
I followed up an ad on Craigslist in my area posted by some hobbyists that were selling all of their animals... I got at least $300 of wood, plants, hide boxes, UTHs, and a couple cages for $80. Sure it's used, but a good bleaching and it's good as new.
Anyways, when I need to order anything I go to PetMountain.com. By far better than any other online suppliers or pet stores I've ever bought from. Shipping can be pricey, depending on where you live, but overall I find it's a great deal.
