Kenyan's get Fatter, Rosy's stay Thinner, both about Equally as common but I would recommend a Rosy Boa over a Kenyan for you, Kenyans are definitely more Snappy as babies, Rosy's are generally more docile. Most Kenyans grow out of Snappiness as adults but I would just pick a Rosy, they both require very similar care. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I'd recommend the rosy too. They don't get as fat but get longer, and they don't burrow anywhere near as much as the sand boas do. So if you want a snake you'll see more often then the rosy is the one for you. I feel from personal experience that the rosy boas are much more docile too then sand boas as a whole.

I had a KSB for almost a year. Only time I ever saw it was at feeding time when I had to get him out and feed him in a seperate container. He was always skittish and never did get used to being handled.

I've never seen a nippy kenya either. I think they're just gorgeous little guys. They're on my list for sometime in the future.

HA you haven't met my Rosys lol. I used to breed Retics back before my fall, and I swear I have been bit more times by my Rosys, and with more excitement about biting, then all my years with Retics. But mine are an exception to the rule and to be honest these two are the first ones I have ever even known to bite. Ah well I'm sure their babies will be better :)

Kenyans (East African Sand Boas) are more common due to the larger litters; up to 25-30 in EASBs vs. up to 10 in Rosys (very large for a Rosy litter).

Kenyans are more "snappy" as neos, but do grow out of it. Rosys seem to grow "into" being more snappy in captivity. Ask any field guy out west. Wild Rosys of all ages are generally placid and can be handled/examined with ease. In captivity, their feeding response seems to grow with their size and age. Interactive handling is a must with captive Rosy Boas.

Both are very rewarding captives. You cannot go wrong with either.

I think sand boas are more common, as they cost less (IMO that's why they're more popular). But to each is his own as to which to prefer. I have two rosies, and the male is docile, but the female will bite you at any chance. she attacked a glove i had on one day and refused to let go. then she didn't want to eat bc she had herself all worked up over a glove. Odd lady she is.
