My boyfriend is trying too expand his gecko collection and breeding and would like a white & yellow. SOO; instead of buying him a N. levis levis (they are WAY too costly !) i decided i'd look for a w&y for his christmas present! i'm trying too stay under at least 300. If one of you readers have any I'd love for you too contact me!

Please & Thank You !

Im afraid that they wont be priced that low for probably years, the lowest Ive seen was around 500 and. It only goes up from there. I've also seen some auctioned for 300, that's how I got mine but the guy hasntt auctioned white and yellows for a long time now and is instead selling them though but they are 700 and up...

Next year white and yellows will be 300 without a doubt. with so many people getting them and going to be breeding them to all their morphs without first proving what they are het for, you will see the price drop dramatically. I can only see 2-3 breeders being able to maintain the higher price tag due to exceptional quality going into their projects.

I agree. Right now the lowest I've seen them have been $500-$600. I've been looking at them for awhile, but I'll probably wait until next season unless I find one I just can't pass up. :)

You guys really think the price drop will be that low next year? I mean I kinda agree on it dropping to maybe 400 something but that will be a ordinary w/y with no combos, I still see alot right now for over 800 and don't see how in one season it could go less than half. Of course id like the price to drop more because they really are nice animals and fun to work with.

oops i thanked you instead of quoting you

i can easily see them going that low especially since they are a dominant morph. also i think some breeders end up holding on to them a bit longer than they would like to since not everyone is sold on the actual "morph". also MOST not all have been bred into the trempers and have yet to be outcrossed completely. only a few of the larger breeders have actually had the time to outcros them. now some of the bigger breeders are crossing them into other morphs as well into the other two lines of albinism.

i think there will be an influx of fake w&y's since they are so "normalish" looking. people to try and pass of light hypos and such as w&y. be careful who you purchase them from.

Well you got me with them being dominant, but i believe another reason why breeders hold them is for the very reason that they dont want the market to crash. yeah the w/y has been crossed into the other lines already, ive seen also seen w/y radars. Even though though some look "normalish" some high quality ones are far superior than those and IMO it is a different morph.

I talked with Jeff about them a few weeks ago and he doesn't think it's dominant. He bred w&y to w&y and only hatched a few that were w&y. He explained it kind of quick, but maybe he can answer here sometime for everyone.

I without a doubt think you will be able to EASILY get a W&Y next season for $300. They do not have enough consistency in quality to be a dominant (not genetically but in marketable aspects) over other mutations. Yea I agree some of the nicest ones I have seen look great...but that's only after countless examples of the morph which don't look good IMO. Any leopard gecko morph will drop in price FAST unless its polygenetic. They are too prolific for prices to remain high since the supply supersedes the demand.
