We lost one of our first gecko, Whitie, yesterday. She had been perfectly fine without any symtoms, she even rushed out from her hide to eat a silkworm the night before. But then within 24 hours, she was at death's door. Her tail deflated over one night, her body bloated, and her belly is pretty much black. She was not very responsive when we noticed her condition, and we knew she only had hours to live.
We do not know what caused her to leave us so fast, sudden organ failure? Fatty liver disease because she is too fat?? We'll never know the answer, but we just hope she was not in much pain when she left.
We love you Whitie, you will always be a part of our gecko family, we won't forget you.
