I'm a Seahawks fan, I didn't have a dog in this fight, but the Saints played a dirty game, and had the win handed to them on a silver platter by the refs horrible officiating. I'll be happy if the Colts can put them in their place.

They knew they weren't good enough to beat Favre, so they just beat the crap out of him with late hit after late hit, hoping they would hurt him enough that Jackson would have to come in. That may be playing to win, but it's still dirty.

If the refs hadn't handed the Saints a free touchdown, he wouldn't have had to try and win it at the end by throwing that reckless pass. After that, the refs walked the Saints into field goal range with two bad spots and a BS pass interference call. I kind of felt like I was watching a replay of Super Bowl XL. :main_rolleyes:

dude that ball crossed the line. the new rule say something like. the body does not have to break the line just the ball. at first i thought it was not a touchdown but when they looked at it from the other angle you could definitely see it was indeed a touchdown and it was not given to them :D

Around.
There is bad officiating in every game, just because your angry doesn't mean you need to take it out on the Saints.

Anyways, I've been saying Saints since Dec. 15th area. :D So .. go Saints. And I hate the Colts, I hate Manning I think he's a cocky.. you know what.

You guys that don't know crap about the game of football shouldn't EVEN say the Saints deserved that game. ALL SEASON LONG, you can't even breathe on a quarterback without getting a flag thrown! That's a fact! And the hit where Favre got his ankle hurt was a High-Low, for which the so-called "Brady Rule" went into effect. You tell me what ANY of those hits had to do with good sportsmanship!

Tell me how many QB sacks the Saints had. What's that you say? A big fat friggin' goose egg? But still Brett got the crap beat outta him, right? That means the Saints got there late, right? So there should have been more than one flag. Plain and simple.

And if you say there was nothing wrong with the officiating last night, and it's OK for any player to go after another player with the intent of ending his carreer, then there's something wrong with your morals and the way you were raised.

And now after all that ... GO COLTS!!!

you have to look at the other team to assess the stronger players. no you do not want to end their career but you have to make a strategy for the stronger players of the opposing team. if it was a 29 year old QB nobody would have a problem but a 40 year old one meh. don't get me wrong i like favre.

the saints didn't get to where they were by losing games. they played awesome and won all season long!

HATERS!
GO SAINTS!

Well said Maurice. Regardless of who or how old a quarterback is, beating the crap out of him with late hits is terrible sportsmanship and a team that employs such tactics does not deserve a win, and sure as hell doesn't deserve to have that win handed to them on a silver platter by the refs. I am not a Vikings fan or Saints hater, just a football fan who was deeply disappointed by last night's game.

The strategy part makes sense to me. But where's the strategy in leading with the crown of your helmet on a quarterback after the ball's gone? That's not strategy. That's hitting with the intent of removing that player from the game.

The Saints were 13-3. The Vikings were 12-4. So where are the Saints so decisively better? The Cowboys went into the Superdome and beat the Saints. The Cowboys didn't come to the Mall of America Dome and beat the Vikings.

Had the game been officiated fairly, the Vikings would have won. Even after having caughed up the ball five times, and with two interceptions. If you don't believe that, you're living in denial. :main_yes:

I like Favre.
Bad officiating, yes.
5 turnovers, Minnesota set themselves up to lose.

I think the Colts and Vikings would have been a better Super Bowl game but the Saints aren't in any way slouches.

If Manning is on like he was against the Jets than the Saints can at least celebrate their first Super Bowl appearance :)

My teams not in it but the saints have been one of my favorites even more so seance brees signed. the colts have always been a big rival of my Pats so I have never liked them. So I'm rotting for the Saints in this one.

But I can't deny that Payton Manning is darn good one of the best QBs that have played the game and would have to say he deserves another ring. but again I think Payton and the colts have more of a chance to get back to the Superbowl in the next 2 -3 years then the saints. so seance the saints are their they should take advantage of their opportunity. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Manning getting thrashed around like favre did in that last game.

GO SAINTS!!!
