why do i always get bit?

i was just taking this girl out for some photos and she chomped on me! why do i always get bit?

left a bruise too! oddly enough this bite really didn't hurt. i got chomped by a young ball and it hurt worse LOL

Nooooo I would never insinuate that you smelled like a rat. I just know from my boy's experience and absent mindedness that he has stuck his hand in his python's tank on more than 1 occasion after handling mice and got that overly interested look from his snake before.

I know you're smarter than my 14 year old and prob. always wash up after handling feeders... I was pretty much grasping at straws for ideas as to why you keep getting love bites. :main_yes:

That one looks like it would have hurt. I finally got my first snake bite last week. It left a bruise, too, but really didn't hurt at all. (BTW~it was totally my fault. I gave my bd a bath. I washed up after, but I forgot that he climbed up my arm. Myers came out and was pushing his nose along my arm and then bit down. My husband is the one that remembered that I probably smelt like food from the bath.)

I was just going to blame it on Russ.

When I was a young child my parents would get those variety pack boxes of popsicles sometimes during the summer. I liked all of the flavors well enough but my sister didn't like the grape ones. I would intentionally select the cherry and the orange ones when the box was new, because I knew that if we each ate those at the same time, I'd have all the grape ones left to myself (and eight out of the twelve total) at the end of it.

I figure Russ is doing something similar. Feeding and watering and handling the ones he knows won't bite him, leaving you with the tiny toothed murder machines.

seamus i think he is too, although he can handle every snake we have and never gets bitten. he will be holding one of the evil snakes and it will strike and hiss at me as i walk by LOL
