I want to know why I don't have eggs!!! I have a male and a female in a 20 long. the first night they were together the male was "trying" all night. I believe he got rejected. Now I haven't seen him go for "it". Now the male and the female just live together and I haven't gotten eggs. I am
going to take a pic of her belly in a few minutes.

8 or 9 months seems a little young, mine are the same age and they aren't laying, I don't really expect them to, not that they would be fertile as there is no male in there. I was told by the breeder I got them from to wait at least until they are over a year to breed them, preferably 2yrs so they live longer and the babies are healthier and have a better chance of survival if mom is fat and happy.

i have the same problem only mine is 2 years old and healthy weight and everything is ok they are just not laying.. I"m gonna keep them in together just in case....

For you tho, I'd take the female out... She is waay too young to be having babies.. I have three females that are one year old, one is 53 grams and the rest are 46 grams.. I wont breed them til next season!!! Best for the leo!

Weight and age are both important. Just because the gecko is over 50grams, it doesn't mean she should necessarily be bred yet. Also remember first time breeders don't always offer as many eggs, many will absorb most if not all of the eggs the first season.

Typical breeding season without manipulation is Feb-Sept, however with careful manipulations you can have optimal breeding conditions start at any time of the year. My last two years of breeding, I had two different breeding seasons going in a year, first one starting in Feb, the second starting in Oct, this way I had things spread out and if a female wasn't ready in Feb she always had a second chance to start in Oct if I wanted.

So just because we are half way through the breeding season doesn't mean it's over for any breeding to occur.

However I do agree you need to give your female some more time to mature a bit.
