Why do you like crested geckos?

I'm just curious as to everyone's thoughts as to why they like the species so much. Is it the personality, ease of care, colors? Why do you like crested geckos?

I have kept alot of different lizard species and I simply wanted something that didnt need so much heat, after keeping and breedin beardies for a few years I wanted to try something new. I had seen my first one, an adult male, at was at the time I was still working for a pet store. He was transfered from one store to mine since we had better reptile sales and they had him since he was a wee thing, but nobody could give me an exact age. I ended up buying him because his goofy little der face just melted me away.

Why do I still keep them..well they still have those cute der faces! But I like the fact that they are not as high maintanence as other species, honestly the no heat thing is what really gets me! I have since branched into gargs and by next year I should have a chewie or two.

i like crested geckos because they are survivors. they survived extinction, they are simple to care for and look very ancient imo.

Their velvety soft skin is irresistible! LOL I always thought they looked cool but Kelli let me hold one of hers at NARBC a long time ago and I was hooked.
