I am really at a loss for what to do.
I don't think that the vet should have said anything about an Xray being done until she saw Kiya... besides that I don't think I can feel comfortable with what she said about all the leos she has seen.

I wouldn't. I don't know of one GOOD Veterinarian that would say that to a possible patient. That's just ridiculous.

oh sweetie, I'm worried for you too! Only things I can contrubute is I would not take her that vet. It would be a waste of money and time. If she doesn't know herps, then she can easily miss something on the x-rays. Try calling animal hospitals. They usually are more trained that a regular vet, they also may have the number for someone close to you. Try the next biggest city near you in the yellow pages. Don't waste your money with a vet that won't even know what she is looking at.

I'll be praying for you and her, **hugs**

Thank you so much.. I hope we figure it out somehow.
She is as active as usual so I think I might wait and see what happens.
I have called the known herp vet that is 4 hours away, but she is not in her office. From there it gave me an emergency number, they in turn gave me another number of people that "work with reptiles". But when I called it, they told me they don't deal with reptiles and gave me the first number I had called. All the ones in town, except for that one refuse to see reptiles.. so I am basicly stuck. I do not have the car or money to take her to Sudbury to get her looked at... :( I am at a loss for what to do at this point.

Only thing I can think of doing is either feed her more baby food a couple times a day, or make some slurry for her.

Jess, what are you exact floor temps on the hot side and what are your exact ambient air temps from the hot side to the cool side... I dont think she looks egg bound to be honest with you...

I hate to sound like a broken record but bumping up your heat should get your leo to eat properly...

I would try that first before running out to a vet... A vet is not the answer to every problem...

I agree with Greg, and after the temps are going up try and get her to eat. If she won't take live food I think you should try the slurry, that would be better then baby food and calcium.

Try to call the vet and ask if you can get a fecal exam done. If you get her to eat, see if you can massage her tummy with a warm wet cloth to get a fresh sample.

ok does she look skinnier than last time or does she just weight less? She doesnt look small to me so maybe you forgot to subtract the weight of the container last time? a drastic weight lost like that would take a long time so thats what is confusing, Oh and when you weighed her last time was she stuffed with food?
Ok is your scale working properly..I mean go weigh something else and see if it seems correct. Once I was worring too because the scale was set to OZ's .

Ok if everything seems right then I would do what Gregg said. Bumping um ambient air temps up a bit. Provide plenty of water and food and if she doesnt improve I would get her to a vet.

That gecko looks fine to me. Relax, I really don't think she's in any imminent danger. I certainly don't see any reason for an x-ray at this point. Plus, I'm pretty sure that an experienced herp vet can tell if a leopard gecko is egg bound without an x-ray anyway. A fecal sample wouldn't hurt though.

Sometimes they don't eat much when they ovulate, so it could be as simple as that. Also it's winter time. Personally I run my heat a little cooler during the winter. There are seasons in nature.

The slurry is a good idea. It nourishes the gecko and helps to stimulate the appetite. Definitely add the milk thistle and acidophilus to your slurry. You'll want to have ice cube trays ready to go when you make the slurry. Pour it into the trays immediately after mixing it up. I don't fill them all the way either, I make little cubes so I can thaw a small amount at a time. It lasts longer that way. Once the cubes freeze I put each cube in it's own ziploc sandwich bag, then put them all in a freezer bag.
