I have done it, in my case a superhypo tang with a tremper albino. I got geckos with a range of color and spotting, bred the most hypo with the best carrot tail back to the male the next season and got hybinos for about 1/3 of the albino babies.
the only leos that i have noticed vision problems is my enigmas and my blizzards. other members here with more experience might have more info on that. robin would probably be the best to ask. none of my trempers have any issues with vision. are his eyes fully open? any stuck shed or caps? might be blind.
I am doing the same thing except for with a RAPTOR x SHTCTB. I would do it, especially if it's your first time, the offspring those particular morphs seem to do well, IMO.
I have noticed that RAPTOR's seem to have eyesight problems. My Male RAPTOR, who passed away last year, was quite a poor hunter compared to my SHTCTB. I have also noticed the offspring of hi and the S?HTCTB have had some trouble seeing, I've noticed that feeding in the dark helps with accuracy, maybe there is too much light in the room when feeding? just a thought though.
I have tried feeding it in the darker areas and it doesn't seem to really help but thats just me. However If I do leave mealies in the bowl he'll end up eating it during the night. But my female can see a lot better and catch crickets. His eye is always open but should I still flush it out? He could jt possibly be blind
