I just got some price list from Tremper, and this is on it:

28 Eclipse Super Snow - 6-9" - 2 black eyes - 50% het for albino sexed ready mid July 1,250.00

How the fuck can he tell if it's an Eclipse or not??? All Super Snows have solid black eyes. And look at that price!?! You know some foolish person from Europe will buy it though. :main_yes:

OK, I just sent him this email:

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the update! I do have a question, though... you have 28 Eclipse Super Snow - 6-9" - 2 black eyes - 50% het for albino sexed ready mid July 1,250.00. How do you tell if they are Eclipse Super Snows since all Super Snows have solid black eyes?

Thanks!

Lol, Marcia - you're gonna get him all riled up! ;)

Maybe it is an eclipse super snow, but for that kind of money the buyer is sure putting a lot of trust in him and his knowledge of genetics. :inquisitive:

I am totally confused here. He also has "RAPTOR Sunglows - jungle, patternless, and banded listed". I sent him this email:

Thanks Ron! I'm very interested, but just a little confused. I'm not trying to be argumentive in any way... I am just having difficulty understanding most of the 'new' morph combinations that are out there now.

If all Super Snows have solid black eyes, and Eclipse's have 'solid' back eyes, if the eye color was the only thing that indicated what morph it was, how could we determine whether the solid eyes are because they are a Super Snow or an Eclipse? Or both?

Also, you have on your latest page:
R.A.P.T.O.R. Sunglows - Jungles, Patternless, and Banded phase.

Does the RAPTOR simply mean they have ruby eyes? How can a Sunglow, or a jungle, or a banded be a RAPTOR since RAPTORs are 'albino patternless'? Are they Sunglows with ruby eyes? If so, how can they be RAPTORs?

I truly wish to understand all of this... it's hard enough explaining that the "P" in APTOR/RAPTOR is not a (Murphy) patternless, much less how a Ruby-eyed, Albino, Patternless, Tremper, ORange could be a Sunglow, jungle, or banded phase morph.

HELP!!!

:laugh4: My kids are demanding to know what's so funny because I really am laughing right out loud! Marcia that is too funny! Hard to imagine that he could believe you don't understand the morphs - but then he thinks he does!

I mist be fucking out of my mind, because I cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, understand what RT is trying to sell here!!!

I admit, I DO have trouble figuring out all these new combination morphs! Hell, I am almost 54 years old, came came from the 'old school' genetics... pretty gecko + pretty gecko = pretty gecko. WTF???

It's bad enough that RT decided (without consulting ME, lol) to call his APTORS and RAPTORS something with 'patternless' in the name. Fuck him! I'm not trying to toot my own horn here, but if ANYONE knows what a patternless is, it's ME!!!

How in the FUCK can he start throwing a wrench in the works by going against HIS OWN morph title????? How can he have a "RAPTOR Sunglow patternless"??????? How in the FUCK are we supposed to explain THIS?

I'm SERIOUS that I have a hard time with all the combination morphs. How in the HELL am I supposed to explain this when I can't even comprehend it? Jesus Christ! I am confused outta my mind! Imagine how all the newcomers to this hobby are feeling... I have no clue how to explain it!

I've been encouraging people to call it a Ruby Eyed (whatever pattern) when they ask about the subject but I don't know if the confusion will ever end... especially if RT continues sending out lists like that. LOL

I do pretty much the same as Mel - or I just use eclipse. There is no way that newcomers are going to understand what makes a Raptor a Raptor if the originator of the morph can't get it right.

It annoys the crap out of me that he would include a pattern trait in the morph and then later just ignore that. :annoyed: Annoys me - but doesn't surprise me. Banded RAPTOR sounds like it might cost more than Tremper eclipse. or ruby-eyed Tremper. There's no point in trying to decifer what he's selling, because either he doesn't understand the morphs himself - or he just doesn't really care and just puts what sounds best. I personally think it might be a bit of both.

As far as all the other combos go - they are coming so fast I doubt anyone can keep up with it completely. Especially when it is so hard to visually distinguish them - like an eclipse super snow. Or my little blizzards - are they Mack snow blizzards or just blizzards? Hard to tell unless you've hatched all the possibilities, I guess.
