My first hatchlings~ after a 4 eggs that went bad (too moist i suppose:main_huh: :( :main_lipsrsealed: ) finally my first 4 hatchlings has arrived! :p :p

They screeched! they ran! They have a good bite at my fingers! do i smell and look bad~ lol :main_rolleyes: They sure gave me a good fright the first time I try to place them into their boxes from the hatch box.... :main_laugh: .

Anyway its been 3 days and they had not poo'ed and eaten any mealworms yet.... should i be worried? i don't think they shed either. Each hide has moist paper towels and water is readily available....

Hatchlings scream and bite for self preservation and defense. It's normal.

THey may take up to a week to poop and/or shed. My hatchling born last Sunday (5/11) pooped by Day 2 and didn't shed till today. The one born on Monday shed yesterday and didn't poop at all yet. They may take a week or more to find and start eating mealworms and may not eat many at the beginning

You can still put a dish with a few mealworms in it and see if it's ready to start eating. Sometimes I'll miss a first shed or poo so I just start trying to feed at 4 days, just a couple worms at a time.
