But we took them out tonight. They've all eaten and pooped, so that's enough to let me know they can be handled for a few minutes a day now.

My pretty Joplin. She's so stunning. She seems to handle being handled the best so far, with Jethro in a close second.

This is crazy Cotten. I love her, but she's crazy.

She does this herself. No, she was not harmed. She didn't drop.

She's got the prettiest face.

Thanks!

It's not the megapixels, though.;)

It's the better metering system and the more focus points of my D300, and it's my Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 lens (my favorite lens at the moment).
But thank you!

I'd like to think some of it has to do with the person behind the camera, too.:main_laugh:

Love the quality of those photos, You are quite the photographer. I loved the pic of "Joplin" when she looked like she was about to take a bite out of your hair. Something in that look, made me laugh:)

Beautiful photos and gorgeous subject matter! It's definitely skill capturing those shots, more so than the equipment. You took those indoors? Whatever settings you used to get that much light were perfect.

*grumbles and looks at her own camera* how much did you spend if you don't mind me asking, because I realize photography can be uber exspensive

aw, thank you! Hehehehe, Joplin was on my husband's shoulder. I'd be one of the most talented people on earth if I could let her sit on my shoulder AND snap a picture of her.:D

Wow, they're all amazing!! Great pics too!

Thank you! I love my babies.:D

Thank you! Yes, I took these indoors, they were shot at, f4.5, 1/200, ISO 400. I took the shots in my bedroom, and my lighting is not great in there (there's different types of bulbs which render different types of light, which means different colors which is why my husband's shirt is pink looking in some of the shots). I used my SB400 flash and bounced it up towards the ceiling.
The SB400 is a really light weight external flash and it's usually plenty when taking simple shots. I don't do studio type photography, so I rarely need to use my flash off camera.
And thanks again!:D

You are a very talented photographer - stunning models

Thank you! :D

how did you get those pictures to post like that?

I use a photo hosting site called Flickr. I copy and paste the URL info for each pic here and I put [i m g] in front of the URL for each pic (without the spaces), and then at the end of the URL, I put [ / i m g], minus the spaces.:D

Yes, it is, if you get a good copy. I've read several people get a bad copy and it ends up being a very soft lens.
My friend had gotten the lens, decided to get a Nikon lens instead, and sent it to me.:D

Well, my D300 was my most expensive purchase. But I bought it used for $1250.
The lens I used for these shots, I didn't pay for, it was a gift. But the lens itself can be gotten at B&H Photo for $370 (which is really cheap for a good lens).
Most of my lenses were either gifts (Christmas and birthday) or I saved to get them.
I use a lot of old Nikon manual focus lenses which can usually be found on ebay for under $100, and they give pictures a film look to them.
My flashes were gifts. My husband got me my SB600 for Christmas, and my friend got me my SB400 for my birthday.:D

They all look great!

Thank you!:D
