When you are standing there watching your dubia roaches eat, and smiling when they crowd around the roach chow. I went from "OMG roaches!" to "yeah eat up, fatten up, that's right" in just 2 months since switching to dubia roaches for my leopard geckos.

I gave up a long time ago trying to count our reptiles. Between what we buy, sell and what shows up here magically i couldn't keep up.

I knew I was addicted to geckos when I realized that every time I go to any store, I look at things and think "Hey, I can use that for my geckos!"....i.e. "Oh, those little bowls in the kitchen isle would make nice feeding bowls!"...."That plastic Sterlite bin would be great for storing gecko supplies!".... Even going out to eat: "These platic Chinese take-out containers would be great for putting the geckos in while cleaning their tanks!"

Your fridge is stocked with: various worms, cricket food, squash and kale, frozen beefheart, brine shrimp, blood worms, pedialyte, orange juice, and a couple of frozen pizzas.

I also own frogs and fish. Can you tell, lol? My husband regularly grumbles at the 20$ a bag cat food while we're making raman noodles and pizza.

.....when you'd rather sleep in the reptile room during breeding season so you will wake up when you hear them digging and about to lay. :/ yeah, I know, pathetic. At least that's what my wife says.

You buy food based on the container it comes in because it'll make a good moist hide when the food is gone.

Hah! That's what I do!!! I buy beans in black plastic containers with transparent lids from Schnuck's, as moist hides for my gecko babies :main_laugh:

I'm not really that fond of beans, but I eat more than I want for the benefit of my geckos....

I often smuggle stuff from work to use as gecko goods....the caps.off our laundry detregent get stollen before usage to be made into water cups...the papertowel rolls get cut in half and used as hides...etc. etc. I am truly addicted. :)
