I noticed the peeing. It doesn't bother me much though. It's kinda funny because all feeders have their issues. Mealworms don't wiggle much. Crickets stink and superworms pee.:p

Ive never been pissed on, weird.

It's more like a spray. I will grab like ten in my hand during feeding time. You almost don't even notice it until you let go of the superworms and look at your hand.

OK. I'm grossed out. I noticed the same thing but didn't think about pee. Thought they were giving off a defensive moisture like garter snakes do. Most of my leos love them though.

Yeah, I think the "pee" is actually something they secrete to keep predators away. I think it probably stinks or has a nasty taste to it so the predator drops them.

And, I never thought they bit until I looked at one and saw they had those pinchers. I put my fingernail in the things mouth area and it clamped right onto my nail!

I've never encountered pee or been bit by superworms... and I hand feed.

Stina won't let me feed soldier fly larvae (phoenix worms, soldier grubs) but that's my favorite feeder...

Yeah Steve, I always thought it was their little legs scratching or grasping onto my hand...but I now know it's their little pinchers. ewwww. lol.

I breed supers and yes they "pee" or secrete fluids. I prefer them to other feeders by a long shot. They produce a wonderful feeding response because they move so much more than mealworms. Most of my leo's love supers but I do have a few that refuse to eat them and they cannot be fooled! They know the difference immediately. I think its the smell. They either love them or hate them, there seems to be no middle ground! I have never been bitten so hard that I need feeding tongs though.
