A couple of questions

Hi guys

I have 4 unsexed geckos 2 different morphs. I have them in a large encousre. Two good hides either side (large enough for all 4 to crawl under) water bowl on the cold side.

Q1. Do I need a sweat box in all the time?

Q2. Should I split them down to the 2 morphs in seperet enclosures (2 in 2) untill I can find out what sex they are?

The substrage is coco fiber stuff. I chose that as it is easy to clean and holds the moisture and is safe for all my other pets. Is this ok for geckos too?

Okay, answers to your questions :D

Q1. Do I need a sweat box in all the time?
If you mean a moist hide, some people use it all the time. I do for my older, gravid females, but for my younger ones and my males, I only put it in when I notice one's about to shed.

Q2. Should I split them down to the 2 morphs in seperet enclosures (2 in 2) untill I can find out what sex they are? Splitting up the morphs wouldn't really do any good. You can keep them together as long as you can see they're all eating, no one's fighting or mysteriously coming up with scratches, etc, but the second you notice that one is male, you get that one separated. It's best to have all four in separate enclosures, actually, if you can. That way they'll for sure be the least stressed as possible and there's no risk of REALLY premature pregnancies, which can do all sorts of damage to little leos.

The substrage is coco fiber stuff. I chose that as it is easy to clean and holds the moisture and is safe for all my other pets. Is this ok for geckos too?
I wouldn't keep them on coco fiber. They need low humidity, and they're not really built to walk on soft surfaces. Keep them on tile if you can, or paper towels, shelf liner, newsprint, or reptile carpet. Personally, I'd go for paper towels as that's usually handy in anyone's house.

I keep mine's humid hide in all the time but they seem to like to lay in it alot, even when they're not shedding so I might take it out except for when they shed.

Its good to have more hides than geckos, so you should probably put 2 more hides in at least.

The best thing to do would be separate them all because males with males will fight & bully, females are fine together if they get along, males with females equal in young pregnancy & can kill a female that is too young. But if you keep them together check everyday & make sure you know the difference between male & female so if you find a male put him by himself immediately. Another way to tell sooner, take a powerful flash light, hold the leo upside down, put the light on its back so it shines through their belly, if you see some good size veins, most likely a male, no veins or very tiny ones, most likely female, this is not guaranteed, but sometimes works. If I were you, I would look & do the flash light thing every day or every other day.

Coco fiber is fine, but don't mist down the whole thing, that would be too much humidity, only mist where the moist hides are, I use coco fiber too :)

All 4 kids are the same size and the enclosure is 2 foot long by 1.5 deep. All seem happy, for the moment. i keep i good eye on them as they are cool. I will try the light thing later. First have to get a light. :D

How big should the moist box be? Should I have it big enough for 2+ geckos to get into.

When the moist box goes in should all the hides that were in there stay in or should I remove the hide on the cold side.

Should the moist box have a bottom on it between the moist content and the substrate?

If you are using coco as substrate all I would do would be to add in maybe a little bit of moss and just spray it. Or spray it even without the moss, the dirt will retain the moisture and that'll be perfect for your geckos. I wouldn't change the substrate if it's working for you, I keep all of my animals on it and they love it.

Yea, I would get a hide where at least 2 can get in there. Mine usually just pancake ontop of each other anyway, but it should be big enough so that they can lie down without touching in case they don't want to.

You can keep the other hides unless it's starting to get too crowded.
