I was taking our long haired chihuahua outside this morning and heard barking at our gate. To my surprise, a tiny short haired chihuahua came running through the bottom of our closed gate. We finally found out which house he lived at a street over and left a note on their door. He's adorable but I sure hope they call soon!

LOL
Yeah, our dogs are really good so I think we'll be ok. I made sure the little one was "on empty" before we brought him in. The funny thing it that we've been talking to him but I'm pretty sure he lives in a Spanish speaking home so I don't know if he even understands us.

Looks like Tommy Boy was expressing his "happiness" about the new friend :p

Thanks Whitney, our long haired boy, Peanut, really is precious. Everyone always thinks he's a girl because he has such pretty hair! LOL

So...our new friend, Peewee, who we will always lovingly refer to as "Nightmare" is back in his home. HOORAY! He was super cute but wow, was he a Chihuahua! He had all of the annoying traits Chi's can have and drove Tommy crazy until about an our ago when his owners' kids got home from school and picked him up. He really fell in love with Tommy though so I have a feeling this won't be the last we see of him...:main_rolleyes:

I will never take my super mellow dogs for granted again!

And we just got back from taking Peewee home again. He was on our front porch whining at the door. Hmm...so that only took about 2 hours!

I think the long hair chihuahuas look like little teddy bears. They are so cute. But they potentially have worse traits than yorkies from what I understand, and yorkies can be pretty bad.

So he came back? Ha. They really need to watch their dog better.

Oh, Peewee is way worse than a Yorkie. They have a nice fenced yard but he weighs 2 pounds so who knows where he's squeezing himself through. lol He's like, the same size as a squirrel.

We'd been hearing whining coming from the neighbor's shed all morning that didn't sound at all like their dog...that's because it was Peewee aka Nightmare !!

When she got home a little while ago she tried to return him to us. She said that he been barking at our front door at 2am so she took him home and put him a in a crate thinking he was ours. He barked all night so she finally put him in the shed early this morning. We told her about yesterday and asked her to please return him to 109 Next Street Over.

I have a feeling Animal Control is going to end up taking possession of him eventually. I'm going to contact a few Chihuahua rescues in the mean time and see what the best way to handle it would be.

Sounds like a good thing to do.. Personally, if my dog got out twice in one day, I'd hunting down the hole he squeezed out of and plugging it up.

My parents had to do it before. We had a dog who would dig out. Eventually they put a electric wire at the bottom of the fence and after a few weeks turned it off and he has never dug out since. Same with te other dog who likedto push off the deck and into the neighbor's yard- electric cord at the top of the fence for a few weeks and he's never done it sense.
