Sweet, congrats! This post is by far the best one ive seen on the forum.

So you have to incubate them? What temp do you incubate them at? This interests me even more than geckos.

They do best in the mid to low 70's. I am not using any supplemental heat, the room temperature is perfect for them.

Got the ability to record time lapse video?

One of my favorite parts of keeping any of the species that breed on leaves suspended above bodies of water was watching the eggs hatch and the tadpoles shimmy free and drop down, to shake off any residual jelly before go swimming towards the available cover.

Provided the whole thing doesn't slide into the water as it begins to break up, causing them to hatch there anyway.

I wish. This is my first clutch from a leaf breeding species so I really hope I am home to see them hatch.

I really hope you are too, both because it is one of the coolest things you can watch (and you'll stand there, filled with pride and wonder as it happens) and because the chances of you having a camera on hand are pretty high based on your past patterns of photodocumenting and I want to see it too.

I keep a camera in the room so I can shoot anything cool that I happen to see. If I catch them hatching I will shoot a video of it and try to post it here.

Kind of related- how are your plants doing with the leaves removed? I was curious as to if you were going to hatch them out in the tank with the adults or if (and how) you were planning to remove them, but your photos answered the question before I took the time to ask it.

The main plants, the leaves should last as long as they need to in order to serve their current purpose. Just curious as to how thick the growth was on the plants they came from, or how significant the loss was in removing the leaves (rather than removing the entire plant).

Here is a shot of the viv (You can see the pair in amplexus near the top):

The pothos is out of control and the Peperomia is a pretty good size plant so I don't think either will miss a leaf.

Great post, made my day... thanks. They look easier to care for than leos... but I could be wrong. The breeding thing makes me want them even more. But I forgot they made noise.

To say the least. Breaking that down to remove the whole plants would have been pretty overboard.

Always a pleasure seeing your shots, thank you.

Wow! This is so interesting! I want to see this in real life! Your pictures are amazing though, so close and clear...I feel like Im right there! It doesnt seem like much work at all to breed tree frogs (maybe Im wrong?) Are these from the new red eyes that you just got? Im guessing that you are going to sell the babies? Nevermind....dont even tell me :) I might be tempted!
