Absolutely Terrified

I'm absolutely terrified 2-3 weeks ago this lump showed up on my shoulder it was so small I didn't notice it until something brushed against it and it felt like a bruise but it wasn't bruised. I let it go thinking it was my heavy bag that I've been wearing on my shoulder ever since high school. Anyway flash forward to today and it seems to have gotten bigger and it didn't help that I dropped a hot hair drier on it when it slipped out of my hand last night while I was doing my hair last night it's huge, bruised and my entire shoulder area hurts. I know I have to call the doctor tomorrow and see who ever I have to see and do what I need to but I'm terrified of hearing bad news.

:(

I hope everythings ok Liz. It's possible its a subcutaneous hematoma(basically, a "bruise under the skin"). See a Doc and try not be too scared. I'm sure things will work out.

Hmmm! This actually calmed my nervous, my mind is telling me I have a cancerous tumor that it about to explode right threw my shoulder that needs to be amputated, just a tad bit dramatic aren't I?

Maybe its one of those bubble things, like a water or an air bubble. I wouldn't worry to much Liz, I'll send you a message on fb.

Before you start thinking cancer you should know that cancer rarely causes direct pain unless it's associated with a major organ or the nervous system. Secondly, bruisjng is rarely a sign of cancerous tissue. I would be much more inclined to think subcu hematoma or even a cyst before I went to cancer. Just talk to your doc, I'm sure it will turn out to be much less of a big deal than you're creating in your head. :p

Oh Hun I'm a paranoid freak. I go to the worst possible thing imaginable, I'll even say I was abducted by aliens before going to something simple, lol.

Liz, I'm just like you when it comes to paranoia- I immediately think of the worst thing possible!
I honestly think that your in no danger, but a doc visit would be the best and safest way to go.
