ok i see. also remember that as they age they go through several color and pattern changes before they settle in to their adult colors. all of those babys are siblings just from different clutches and you can see how variable they are.

An Afghan adult can weigh 36-56 grams

My female was 63g on 3/2... :p

Btw, I love how variable they can be in color... Kelli, how often do the light ones pop out and is there consistency or is it just random? I haven't bred my pair yet and really want the males bright yellow to transfer to his babies... I think it would be sweet to make them consistently... There's a lot of cool line breeding projects you can do with the many traits they have... I'm sure you've imagined a totally yellow tail with black spots throughout...

very true eric. they have a very different head and body structure compared to e. macularius.
