My daughter got an African fat tailed gecko, and initially when she got him, he was a brownish caramel color and he has recently become more of a grayish brown color. He’s still eating he’s still drinking. He’s lost weight. We don’t think it’s metabolic bone disease because his bones aren’t curving or becoming deformed. He still moves. He’s not lethargic. We just don’t know what’s causing the gray color, she maintains his substrate fresh food regularly freshwater daily. We don’t really know what’s going on.

There's a good chance that he won't look that way pretty soon. He's probably about to shed. Keep us posted,
