it funny how it is okay for some(or thats how i am reading it, at least some rationalization for some), but if it involves a morph you dont care for...its wrong? i think alot of people get too worked up and too involved in something they personally have NOTHING to do with??? i understand people dont want to mix the albino strains..but in this case, it was NOT done on purpose. so the op did nothing wrong in my opinion. if you people that would KILL an animal that is perfectly healthy, just because it is not YOUR idea of "the perfect gecko"...to me this is just stupid. there are plenty of other options for those animals. i understand culling an animal that is so defformed or otherwise not able to live a healty life, but a HEALTHY animal??? ...just because it may not have your "ideal" genetics??? and again, i see the point of not wanting to dirty the genepool, but is it really that big of a deal to let these animals live? i am a bowhunter, so i have nothing against killing animals for the right reasons(eating the meat in my case), but i think this is a little silly to kill a perfectly healthy animal, for no reason other than the genetics it carries. i have all three strains of albino leopard geckos, and will never cross them, and i totally understand the arguements here....i just see alot of arrogance in this thread. i mean really, that is how new stuff is found, by crossing different genes, and how is test crossing the eclipse and the marble eye so wrong??? really???

The guy sells eclipse eyes and thinks....THINKS...the Marble eye looks the same and it's gonna tread on his water. How someone can make these statements by simply looking at a couple of pictures is beyond me. It's totally ignorant on his part. I think most everyone can agree that mixing albino strains is a no-no, so I don't know why he keeps singling out the marble eye other than to try and convince others (falsely) that it's nothing special. Yes, we know there's 40 double het's that Matt created, trying to figure out what he was working with. How many double het's are there out there that aren't marble eyes??? I guarantee you it's a hell of a lot more than that, and I don't see him crying about those. :main_no:

I'm not slamming the Marble eye, Yes i'm not feeling the vibe, But we won't go there. I was more refering to the fact that people are saying to cull other wise healthy leo's just for being HET two albino strains, And the fact that Matt has/had over 40 HET Eclipse eye,Marble eye, And i don't beleave for a second that he would have culled all of them just for being HET both eye traits.

sorry dude, If I would have known she was rainwater I would have kept her, she is definitely het patty. I have 3 of her patty babys now well not babys any more. When I started breeding my first pair came from a pet store and when a albino poped out I just asumed it was tremper being most ppl say they are the rarest on the market and tremper was the most popular. I will offer to buy her back at the price I sold her, to prove im sincerly sorry. Thanks Stewy

There are 3 axanthics in ball pythons, nobody says not to breed them together. They just tell you that they are incompatible. They don't make a big deal about it.
What is almost as interesting is a leopard gecko morph that has been tried to get. It's called 'banana blazing blizzard'. People never say anything about that.
It's similar to hybrids. People marketing them as something else, other than what they are, are the ones doing the wrong thing. If people sell hybrids, to other people that are into hybrids, as what they actually are, there is no problem.
If the people making albino combinations are selling them as what they are, it's not wrong, any more than selling a double homozygous recessive combination morph.
There are actually few compatible morphs. That's why there is always the '1/16' odds of getting a double homozygous from breeding 2 heterozygous recessive animals.

These 2 of these went to the a friend that i trust never to breed them. and she told me if she ever wants to get rid of them she will give them back to me.

And At almost every show i go to "reputable" breeders have "discount" "Pet only" kinked tailed notched eye geckos for sale.
