I just have to vent a little. My allergies are horrible and I decided to help out with yard work Sunday. Now since Sunday night, I can't breathe, can't swallow, and my neck is even swollen looking.:( My temp is only 99.3, so I'm not sure if I'm sick or if it's just from being outside. Either way, I don't like it and I don't have time to be sick.:(

I empathize completely. I've had seasonal allergies for a while but it seems more like year round allergies for the past couple years. I've even formed a couple of food allergies. I wonder if it's related to pollution or something.

Kristi, take some Airborne and see if it helps prevent really getting sick. It's worked for me a few times.

:( im sorry youre sick!!
my mom is allergic to EVERYTHING!
all grasses, trees, pollens, molds, and some animals...
shes miserable year round.
she takes 3 diff allergy meds a day, and on top of all that she has asthma!!!
a hot shower sometimes works for her, so maybe you could try just sitting in the shower and see if it helps you breath

I feel your pain, I have been sniffling, sneezing, sinus hurting since june 09, I am allergic to grass pollen, but have been good for the past 11 years, but since June I have been just as bad as I was when I first found out I was allergic to grass and its pollen.

Last night was the worst though, I think that I am allergic to superworm and mealworm frass or the chicken feed I am using because last night I had almost an asthmatic attack (became very heavily congested in minutes, I know that asthma is normally considered restriction of the airway due to inflammation) when my fiancee stirred up the bedding looking for fresh worms for the geckos.

I have noticed that I break out in hives and have sniffles after cleaning the mealworm's bins, so I normally take a benadryl before I begin, but I was not expecting my fiancee to start sifting through the bedding so hard looking for worms to stir up the dust. I normally can feed the geckos and sift through bedding with my hands and be fine but if the dust really gets stirred up I start reacting.

I have tried other brands of allergie medicine available here in Canada, but I have found the extra strength Reactine is the best one available for me.

I just wish I knew if this was allergies or a cold. I'm taking Claritin D, benedryl, and nyquil right now. I'm allergic to so many things and my allergies have been getting worse the last couple years. The mealworms kill me, but I get thru it because I need to breed my own feeders if I want this many animals. Grass, pollen, and ragweed are big ones for me. I know that pollen has been extremely high here for a couple weeks now.

I just need to be 100% by Saturday. My daughter has sectionals for track so I'll be outside all day.

Still the same today. Maybe it's a head cold that started from allergies.:(

have you tried using Zyrtex? It is labeled as Reactine here in Canada it works the best for me.

I have used Aerius (clarinex in US) and Claritin-D and they did nothing for me.

I started taking Reactine again after the meal/super worm attack and I am cleared right up, even the sinus congestion is gone.

Hope you feel better soon! I get bad allergies particularly during the spring and late fall. I hate it when I have congested sinuses! Sometimes I wear a facemask, not in public though haha

It's not uncommon for people to develop allergies to antigens that they encounter everyday, I know biomedical researchers that developed allergies to mice/rats and even a few reptile hobbyist that became allergic to mealworms/mice!

On a side note, if Claritin works for you- you can save money by purchasing the generic form: Loratadine 10 mg, it's about $8-$10 for 100 pills! (compared to 30tablets for $20 of Claritin in stores)
