I always leave a bit of carrot or apple in when i feed crickets. None of my geckos have ever eaten it. They're not attracted to it, as they don't recognize it as prey.

Fair enough. :) lol. but am i right in saying it is bad for them? i think i read that... am i just imagining that lol.

Oh yeah, they can't digest plant matter. Their system doesn't know what to do with it, so bad things happen. But...we can't digest rocks, so generally we aren't attracted to them* as a food source

*unless we have the eating disorder pica.

Well I'm sorry to say the little guy passed away tonight....

We thought he was getting better... taking the slurry and eating a cricket here and there, and then today, he just went down hill really fast...

Found him acting really strange in his cage this evening... rolling over on his back and stuff... Within two hours he was gone...

My son is pretty devastated right now...

Thanks for the kind words...

I just wish I knew what was wrong with him. Was it a defect, stress, or something we were doing wrong?

We buried him yesterday. We are now going to take everything and disinfect it and have it ready... Then I'm going to search for a local breeder and get another one for him but this time I'm going to make sure its a good weight first. Hopefully this was just a fluke thing and the fact that he likely wasn't healthy or strong enough to begin with.
