Just because you don't see him mate with the female doesn't mean it's not happening (unless you're up all night every night watching them). I had one trio where I never saw the male mate and I got lots of fertile eggs.

aliza thats right.For me its very rare to catch my pairs mating.Thats why i keep them together for 2,3,4 days

I never saw my RAPTOR male and Eclipse female that I paired up mate, but I have good eggs from them, same with my Tremper male and another Eclipse.

The female is fine... Its the male trust me. He has never shown any interest in any female. He has been with the same female for 4-6 weeks, she has laid 2 clutches all bad. The female shows absolutely no marks of breeding or, even fighting.

So.... Lets get back to my question.

Are there any tips for getting a male to breed or is it hit or miss?

i have already given you some tips and i am all out of ideas. if i was you i would pick up a back up male but i know its going to hard to find one as nice as yours.
