eat a mealworm?

I did it today with a giant. I'm sure I will receive a ton of flames for this, but curiosity got the best of me. I am feeding piles of these to all of my little ones every day and I see people eat them on TV shows like fear factor; I had to find out for myself.

I was at work and happened to have a box of giant meal worms there. My boss's son was in the office and he tricked his son into thinking he ate one of them. That got some wheels turning in my head...

I took one of them, rinsed it off, chewed it up and swallowed. If anyone is interested, they're crunchy and a bit grainy. They don't taste like much. I suppose I would liken them to the taste of paper.

I hope my girlfriend doesn't read this or I don't think I'll ever get kissed again. :X

lol... crickets are too ugly and they move too much. I don't think I could do that.

A waxworm I might be able to stomache.

Superworms are just scary!

I think I'll just stop with the giant mealworm.

LOL-I knew people back when I was keeping fish that would taste the flake food but that's a bit different than eating a worm

I will eat a cricket, superworm, waxworm, mealworm or roach if I was offered $10. I don't think its that big of a deal for me. Then again, it is pretty gross. :wreck:

we dared my step brother to eat a madagascar hissing cockroach. We found the largest one in the colony and he had to chew it. It was so gross i almost lost my lunch watching.

this thread is pretty funny! an old (ex) friend of mine and I were playing Yahtzee a few years ago, and we made a bet that the loser had to eat some mealworms.. but to make it a little less disgusting, we rinsed them and put them in some liquor (like the tequila worm or something lol).. I can't remember who won and who was supposed to eat them, but neither one of use ate ANY worms (we chickened out!). So you are definitely braver than I as well!

and not to change the subject, but this is related.. my brother and I got a bottle of tequila from Mexico last year that had a scorpion in it! I guess I've gotten braver over the years, because I did eat that! My brother and I split it in half, though, straight down the middle (so we both got part of the tail and a claw).. Of course, it tasted like nothing but tequila, and was very crunchy ;)

it looks like it's sitting on top of an upside-down rock glass, but it's not that big! It's actually sitting on top of the mouth of the liquor bottle.
