Thanks Pat, Lottiz, Paul and Ian!

Pat, I appreciate the feedback since you've worked with these longer than most.

I was referring to Normals not having the 'Eclipse' eyes not non MS Blizzards. That's in reference to the 'Eclipse' Mack Snows I've hatched.

I don't really go for the Mack Snow Blizzards have to hatch light idea. To me what counts is not having yellow and if you've seen the other Blizzards I hatched from this project you'd know why I think this is a MS Blizzard.

As for the hue, here's a pic I just took...

It's crazy how it's changed... I will most likely hold this one back either way.

I would have to totally disagree, siblings do have black eyes and can possess normal colored eyes. I h ave had bliz snows and siblings a like posses black eyes("eclipsed") I think that is a beautiful blizzard, but to be honest im not sold on if its a blizzard snow. It looks very dark to be a snow, every blizzard snows i have hatch have been very light and have almost a purplish grey hue to them.

I have attached some pics of babies and sub adults for comparison. Not the hue these guys possess. THis will be a tough morph to distinguish for awhile, most will have to be test bred before knowing for sure.

What i mean is that blizzard eclipse-(tinted) doesn't seem to take hole of regular siblings.from a tinted blizzard X ???' I've seen tinted strate away take hold of mack snow/mack snow blizzard & blizzard but as of yet i've not seen the tinted take hold of the normal hatching-(bumble bee)-yellow & black.

I'd have to disagree regarding the mack snow blizzards is to dark to be mack.Blizzard is very good as expressing dearkness i can't see this being any differant just coz it's mack.I think lack of yellow is the best indercator of being mack snow blizzard. It's not like mack can't express black ? regular macks are born black & white ?.My hatching mack snow blizzard hatch dark. Now it's the whiteist blizzard i have.

i would hang on him to prove him out. i think one thing that people who are breeding these and the mack patternless will; face is proving out (before selling) if a particular animal/animals do or don't are exhibiting both traits.

Congrats! I agree this looks a lot different than the other Blizzards you`ve posted. I think that could mean it is a Blizzard, or a Super Blizzard though. It is kind of dark.

I was hoping there would be an easy way to tell on them, but I guess not. I am confused. I am waiting on our first possible MSBlizzard eggs to hatch, and would really like to know right away If I hatched one.:main_laugh: Ohh well

Thanks Dan!

This one just has one Mack parent so it's not a Super, but that'd be nice.

Yeah... I definitely won't sell any unless I'm positive. I may not even sell any until I have a proven SS Blizzard to produce them.

My post said nothing about blizzards not having the possibility to expressing darkenss?? Midnight blizzards have been on the market for years. My point was that a bliz snow has a different look to it and the picture made it very hard to distiguish. This project will be very hard to differentiate between blizzard and blizzard codom. I AGREE with Robin 100% Test breeding is pivital to make 100% sure what it is. I sold ZERO of these til i was sure what they were.

And as far as the yellow goes, it is too early to make that assumption in my opinion. Now i have hatched these for 2 seasons and have had very little yellow(if any) shown in these animals but every one is working with different blizzards, or crosses, and there is no telling if the yellow( or patternless gene) could express in the blizzard snows.

Now i love your second pic mike, it is a much better representation of the animals and im sold alittle more on the fact of it being a bliz snow. It is just so hard to show these animals through a picture and not have them look like a regular blizzard.

Once again great job on this little guy!! much luck throughout the year.:main_thumbsup:

Thanks a lot Pat and I can use all the luck I can get (considering I only have 1.1 MS het Blizzard and 0.3 Blizzard for this project)!

. sorry if what i wrote wasn't very clear.Basicly i way trying to say that IMO dark & light hachling involving mack snow blizzard & blizzard is not a valid way to ID between the two as hatchlings.Life is't that easy :main_rolleyes: :D .I think the only lead we have are the VERY yellow hatchling blizzards are not mack snow blizzard the rest are going to be a pain. But like you said it depends of the blizzard line as there are some quite white standed blizzard out there. And if some one breeds one of them to there mack snow blizzard there going to have a hard time telling them apart :main_yes: .Even hard will be when the albino gene is added :main_yes: .
