i looked today and im pretty sure its a girl based on images of what to look for. I've talked in chat to a few ppl about my new baby leo. I will explain again for those who werent in chat. i have had her for about 2 weeks i think. there about, got it at petco they "said" it was 6wks old. when i got it home. it didnt eat then the next day ate 2 crickets. the most it has eatin in 1 day is 4 crickets. It wont eat mealworms at all. Tried just putting 1 or 2 in on substrate (reptile carpet) she wouldnt touch them then i tried leaving them in a bowl hasnt touched them at all. Today i tried using tweezers wasnt happening. I was told they were eating crickets n an occasional mealworm so idk y she wont touch the mealies.

I dont have a uth yet but will have 1 by the 1st of the month im praying thats not to long. right now im using a flukers clamp lamp. w/ a basking light bulb and a red nocturnal bulb. both are 75 watts.

2 nights ago i left 1 cricket in the cage over night thinking it would eat it since it had been. i woke up the next morning and cricket was still in there, and i noticed a cut on the base of her tail its not open really wide or anything its not deep but i can see fleshy stuff. i had been putting neosporin on it but was told to stop n let nature do the work. the tail is still on. its not hanging or anything. she still wags it alot and does the lil rattle snake thing when she goes for a cricket, BUT she hasnt eaten anything since yesterday only 1 cricket.. what should i do about all this. She/hes my 1st leo and im already attached and i dont want to loose her.

I havent been able to get a pic of the cut cause she wiggles when i get to close to it. i hope shes not in pain. I will try to get a pic of it if any1 needs me 2. Thank u all!

The neosporin helps keep infection off of the cut and helps it heal so keep doing that. The leo is eating, so thats a good sign. Just keep watch and keep us updated :D. Also, a pic would help us help you a little more if we had an idea what was wrong other than by word. Just a visual idea :D.

leos really aren't sexable until about 6 months of age. but first try leaving her alone for a few days. all this activity may be stressing her out especially if shes a baby. one thing i would try is leaving a bowl of mealworms in her cage overnight, and if that doesn't work try squeezing the guts out of a few and smearing that on her lips. and you shouldn't leave crix in there cage overnight because they can bite her.

Try baby lobster roaches if you can find some. My hatchlings like them real well. I always pinch the heads on the crickets and the roaches. They can still move around some but cant bite anymore. She/he is a cutie. Best wishes.
