Ok, so the story doesnt end very badly, but let me just tell you how livid I was with UPS!
So, I adopted a new leo from Maurice from Sunrise Reptiles =] And she was to come in today. I requested that she be shipped to my work (I work at an animal hosp.) just because I enjoy working the morning shift. (And it is a good thing I did- I will tell you why in a minute).
So, She was shipped UPS next day air- suppose to be in BY 1030AM. The last time I had a leo shipped, they came in around 10AM, so I was anticipating her to arrive at that time.
10AM I began to get a little worried.
1030AM I was very worried!
1045AM I contacted UPS to see where the leo was! They said they would contact the driver and let them know that there was a live animal in the package and see what they could do to get it in pronto.
1130AM I was contacted by UPS to let me know that she was in Gainesville! And a supervisor would be bringing her up here. I was pretty mad at the time and the woman on the phone had the adacity to say, " Im sorry for the inconvience". I was like, "oh its not an inconvenience. I am just worried for the poor animals sake. Its suffering and I really hope she is still alive when I get her". The woman than said, "well, does an hour really matter?" (Can you believe this). I said, "Its been more than an hour and yes, it does matter! A box is not an ideal condition for a leopard gecko, who requires specific temperatures and general husbandry. So therefore I need her out of the box asap!" I couldnt believe she had actually said that.
Anyways, long story short. She finally arrived around 1pm happy and healthy and beautiful! Thank goodness.
Oh, and it is a good thing she was shipped to my work because I would have had to leave my house by 12 to make it to work on time if I had switched to the afternoon shift.
Thank you Maurice! =]
