The first picture looks like photoshop.

I dunno about the second. I would be inclined to belive that it's photoshop as well, since the first one is so obviously tweaked.

Ron Tremper did the picture if my brain is not dead.

Its maybe like 3-4 month ago or so that this pictures got available.

Worries me a little that the most blue they've had, the Blue #1 gecko...died mysteriously of unknown causes. It doesn't say if they ever investigated the reasons behind its death. Tremper's smart enough to discontinue this project if it's producing weak geckos, right?

It would be awful if this turned into another enigma type thing :/. But, of course, nothing's been released yet. I'm really curious to see what he does with it...

i know for a fact that they have been injecting food dye into fish eggs for "neon" fish in pet stores. it wouldnt surprise me if these leos came from a similar method.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that I think he IS more ethical than that. I would just like to think so.

I'd like to think that all big breeders abide by certain ethical rules. Doesn't mean they do, it just would make this hobby better.

RT is pretty tight lipped about this project. From talking to him back when he first announced this project, and judging by that second picture, I don't believe they hold the blue all that well into adulthood. I'm still fascinated by the possibility of a blue Leo. I would love to see new morph development in Leos.

haha, I really doubt RT would dye geckos, but if i found out he (or any of the really big breeders/distributors) did i dont know if i would be surprised.

If i remember correctly blue #1 hatched randomly in a group of geckos that are used for breeding chain petstore geckos so they didnt know which pair produced it. the next year they bred the same geckos from the rack blue #1 came from and got a few more. Blue #1 died, the ones that lived longer didnt maintain the blue color... i have never seen an adult animal that was born with the blue coloration so i cant say beyond that.

The "mysterious" death might have had something to do with the genetics, and is why he isn't releasing any information.

I dont think RT would release any info regardless of what happens.

He hasnt said anything about the Xanthics with the amber colored eyes in like 3 years, he didnt release the eclipse/raptor for a year after the aptor even though he got the first ones at basically the same time, and i still dont know what makes him think tangelos are co-dom or what makes him think the firefox is a legit new morph... he basically can say what he wants when he wants.
